**ALERT! ALERT! Worship is cancelled March 29th and April 5th!**

Our Current Plans

Dear Friends:

Here is a full update on our current plans, keeping in mind that these are tentative depending on what happens from day to day:

1. The church building is closed, except for Sunday morning worship at 10:00 A.M. Please do not enter the church building, even if you have a key. The church building will be disinfected prior to Sunday each week. If you would like to help disinfect the church this Saturday afternoon at 1:00 P.M., please contact Ronnie Dale.

2. All events which use the church facility are cancelled.

3. Snacks will no longer be served after worship.

4. Choir is on hold until further notice.

5. Midweek Lenten Suppers and Services are cancelled for the year.

6. The Community Easter Sunrise Service will still take place at St. Andrew on April 12th at 6:30 A.M., without breakfast being served. We will, however, offer to the MInisterium to host the Sunrise Service and Easter Breakfast again next year.

7. All pastoral visits will be conducted by telephone or other technological means of communication.

8. Confirmation class and other similar instruction will take place via Zoom.

9. All other church events (Fellowship Dinner, Visitation Days, Women's Sewing, etc.) are cancelled until further notice.

However, we encourage everyone to continue to reach out to each other and show our care and concern for each other and those in our communities. May God bless us all and keep us safe.

Midweek Lenten Online Order of Service for 3/18/2020

Since we will not be holding Midweek Lenten services for the rest of year, we instead will be posting the order of service for each week online, for personal devotional use. This week, our theme is, "Jesus Welcomes the Centurion."

Opening Hymn - "Love Divine, All Loves Excelling" - LBW #315
https://hymnary.org/hymn/LBoW1978/315

Scripture Reading - Matthew 8:5-13 (NIV)
When Jesus had entered Capernaum, a centurion came to him, asking for help. “Lord,” he said, “my servant lies at home paralyzed, suffering terribly.”
Jesus said to him, “Shall I come and heal him?”
The centurion replied, “Lord, I do not deserve to have you come under my roof. But just say the word, and my servant will be healed. For I myself am a man under authority, with soldiers under me. I tell this one, ‘Go,’ and he goes; and that one, ‘Come,’ and he comes. I say to my servant, ‘Do this,’ and he does it.”
When Jesus heard this, he was amazed and said to those following him, “Truly I tell you, I have not found anyone in Israel with such great faith. I say to you that many will come from the east and the west, and will take their places at the feast with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven. But the subjects of the kingdom will be thrown outside, into the darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.”
Then Jesus said to the centurion, “Go! Let it be done just as you believed it would.” And his servant was healed at that moment.

Hymn - "What a Friend We Have in Jesus" - LBW #439

Hymn - "In the Cross of Christ I Glory" - LBW #104

Prayers and Lord's Prayer

Hymn - "Lord of All Hopefulness" - LBW #469

Benediction:
The Lord bless you and keep you,
The Lord make His face shine on you and be gracious to you,
The Lord look upon you with favor, and give you peace,
In the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

ATTENTION! ATTENTION!

Come to praise God for His amazing grace, and ask for His divine power in lifting this pandemic from us!

Pastoral Visits

Dear Friends:
In keeping with Governor DeWine's decree today concerning health care facilities, Pastor Jon will be refraining from all shut-in and nursing home visits until the emergency is lifted. He will be conducting pastoral visits by telephone. Please continue to pray for God's deliverance from this pandemic.

Our Response to the COVID-19 Outbreak

Dear Friends:
Along with many faith communities in our area, state, and nation, we are taking the ongoing threat of the Coronavirus seriously, particularly considering Governor DeWine's recent decree of emergency, as well as President Trump's speech and recommendations. Therefore, to uphold the health and safety of our church family and community, we are implementing the following practices for public worship:
1. Greeters will no longer be shaking hands. Additionally, we encourage everyone to find alternative means of greeting each other, and being sensitive to each other's health concerns. Pastor Jon will also be refraining from shaking hands.
2. Use of the common cup will be suspended until the emergency is lifted. Instead, we will be using individual cups exclusively.
3. The Passing of the Peace will be omitted from the Communion Sunday liturgy.
4. Pre-packaged Communion wafers will be utilized, rather than homebaked bread.
5. Pastor Jon, the Assisting Ministers, and Deacons will be wearing disposable gloves while preparing and distributing Communion.
6. We too, along with others, recommend frequent hand-washing, covering sneezes and coughs, the use of hand sanitizer, and coughing into elbows.
7. In the event that this pandemic worsens, Pastor Jon will be limiting visits to emergencies only.
We pray for God's mercy in bringing this pandemic to a swift end; for all those currently suffering or who have tested positive for the virus; and for the families and friends of those who have died. May God be gracious to us all.
